ADMISSION PROCEDURES

Entrance Requirements

The only entrance requirement at SBC is that students seeking a degree be able to read and write well enough to complete homework assignments.  There cannot be a set standard in this area since it depends upon the willingness of the student to discipline himself/herself in study habits.  Therefore, it remains a judgment by the Administration of SBC with the best interests of the student in mind.

Registration

Registration forms for enrollment at SBC are available online, at the school office, via email, or you may call to request a form.

Address your request to: Sonship Bible College

                                        7129 Capital Boulevard

                                         Raleigh, North Carolina   27616,

Or call: 919-855-8001                          Email: sonshipbiblecollege@agapeword.net.

To attend classes at SBC, you must be registered by the end of the second week of any given trimester. Registration deadlines dates will be announced each trimester.

Tuition

Tuition must be paid in full at the time of registration.  .

            Tuition - $50.00 per trimester hour.

            Credit hours required to graduate in a four-year program– 108

            Total cost of tuition to graduate in a four-year program - $5,400.00

Tuition costs do not include books or supplies.  In most classes, the only book required is the Bible.  However, if other books become necessary for a particular class, it will be so designated on the registration form.

Refunds

A student, who registers to attend SBC but is unable to attend classes and withdraws under the proper procedures with the registrar, will be refunded all moneys except for a $5.00 handling fee.  A Student who begins classes and then withdraws, before the fourth class, under proper procedures will be refunded for all remaining classes, minus $5.00 handling fee.

Absences

Attendance is important at SBC.  Since there are only eight classes for each subject in a trimester, it is impossible to receive the full benefit unless the student is in attendance faithfully.  For this reason there is only one excused absence.  All work missed due to an absence must be made up within a two-week period if credit is to be received.  If a student is tardy for three classes, it will be counted as one day’s absence.

Withdrawals and Course Changes

A student who drops a class during the first week of a trimester, or drops a class with passing grades after the first three weeks, and has notified both the registrar and the instructor, will receive a grade of “W”.  If a student who is not earning passing grades withdraws after the first three weeks of class, they will be issued a grade of “F”.

A student wishing to add a course must do so during the first two weeks of the trimester.

Audit Students

Tuition for audit students is $25.00 per trimester hour.  The only difference is that an audit student cannot turn in assignments for credit, and does not receive credit towards a degree.

College Transcripts and Credit

A student who submits their college transcript to the Administration for evaluation will receive credit for their prior training where it is applicable to the curriculum at SBC and degree program.

Grading

At Sonship Bible College, as a church outreach ministry, we are more concerned that the Word is written on the heart, rather than the student being held captive to grades. Instructors will give exams and tests during the trimester, but they may not bear any more weight on your final grade than other learning factors. Therefore a student’s final grade can be determined by the following factors:.

1. Average grade for homework;
2. Average grade for homework on time;
3. Average grade for special assignments, exams or tests;
4. Average grade for attendance; and,
5. Average grade for class participation
