*Description of Future Courses BIBLE DEPARTMENT BIB 101-102-103 Bible Doctrine I BIB 140-141-142 Mathew BIB 150-151-152 Minor Prophets This study of the Minor Prophets deals with the call of God upon their lives and the messages God gave them concerning His plans for and His dealing s with His people. 3 credits BIB 160-161-162 Psalms In addition to being the praise book of the Bible, the Book pf Psalms also teaches relationship to God and encourages our commitment to Him. 3 credits BIB 170-171-172 Praise A unique study of praise. Beginning in Genesis, you will follow the orderly development of the subject through the Scriptures. 3 credits BIB 191-192-193 Personal Evangelism A study to help believers become effective soul winners. 3 credits BIB 195-196 Miracles A study of the miracles of the Bible, and the principles by which we can apply them in personal experience. 2 credits BIB 201-202-203 Bible Doctrine II Trimester one: A New Testament study of the personal names of the Godhead: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Trimester two and three: The doctrines of Love and Peace. 3 credits BIB 210-211-212 The Gospel of John This study reveals Jesus Christ as the Word, or Logos. John’s writings reveal a special relationship to Jesus. Jesus is revealed as the “I AM.” John does not use the word “faith”, but speaks totally about believing, which is the action of faith. 3 credits BIB 264 Job This study of the life of Job teaches us about patience and trust in God. We will also learn about God’s dealings with man, God’s control over Satan’s activities, and the reactions of others to God’s dealings in our lives. 2 credits BIB 280-281-282 Ministry of the Holy Spirit This study of the ministry and work of the Holy Spirit includes: the baptism in the Spirit, the fruit of the Spirit, the gifts of the Spirit, and the things the Holy Spirit does for us. 3 credits BIB 293-294 Faith in Operation All New Testament scriptures pertaining to faith are studied in light of the Greek New Testament. Students will learn how faith works. 2 credits BIB 299 The Happy Ones The “blessed” from Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount are discussed. This in-depth study presents a formula for happiness. 1 credit BIB 301-302-303 Bible Doctrine III Trimester one: The position of justification and how it covers all things. Also, the sanctification (dedication and consecration) of the believer. Trimester two: The believer’s commitment. Trimester three: The development of prayer. All types of prayers are
studied as well as the force and purpose of prayer. BIB 401-402-403 Bible Doctrine IV A complete study of the provision of healing: Where healing was established, where God placed it, how healing flows from the spirit of a believer into the soul and body, and how faith releases healing to sick and diseased areas. Also, sickness and disease is explained from a study of specific Greek words. 3 credits BIB 445-446-447 Tabernacle of David This study helps the student to understand the difference between the order of worship in the Tabernacle of Moses and the order of worship in the Tabernacle of David, which established a basis for our present-day New Testament form of worship. 3 credits BIB 450-451-452 Greek Word Study An in-depth study of special words in the Greek New Testament, revealing how their different meanings uncover great truths hidden within these words themselves. 3 credits BIB 470-471 The Gift of Prophecy This in-depth, detailed study of prophecy includes: its purpose and work in the Church today; difference between prophecy under the Old Covenant and the New; abuses and misuses; recognizing false prophecy; how to test prophecy; working with good prophecies. 2 credits LANGUAGE DEPARTMENT LAN 101-102-103 English Composition Learning to write a term paper and thesis. 3 credits LAN 105-106-107 English Communications Developing the art of correct speech in both speechmaking and everyday communications. 3 credits LAN 205-206-207 English Grammar Learning to use proper English through a study of the parts of speech and the development of sentence structure. 3 credits LAN 201-202-203 New Testament Greek Introduction to the Greek language. Learning the Greek alphabet and the study of grammar. Students are taught the construction of grammar for the purpose of translation of the Greek New Testament. Translation begins with John 3:16. 3 credits LAN 301-302-303 New Testament Greek (2 hour class) The development of exegesis and syntax. Students become acquainted with the importance of correct translation. Several texts are used along with a number of lexicons. 6 credits LAN 401-402-403 New Testament
Greek (2 hour class) 6 credits LAN 501-502-503 Greek (2 hour class) Advanced study in word definitions and correct translation. Enlargement of exegesis and syntax. Learning Greek usage. 6 credits LAN 505-506-507 Advanced Greek (2 hour class) Writing papers with an understanding of definitions and translations. 6 credits CHRISTIAN EDUCATION DEPARTMENT CED 110-111 Christian Education of Children This study deals with the character traits of children at each stage of development, and shows how we, as educators, can meet their needs and teach them Christian principles. 2 credits CED 115 Audio/Visual An overview of audio/visual equipment used Christian education, with an in-depth study of overhead projection as a useful teaching tool. 1 credit CED 120 Story-telling The history and techniques of good story-telling. Students will have in-class experience putting these techniques into practice. 1 credit
Introduction to teaching methods. An overview of Christian education methods for teaching each age level. CED 220 Creative Displays Learning to use advertising techniques in church bulletin boards, fliers, and other forms of displays. 1 credit CED 230-231 Puppetry Introductory course of puppetry technique, including manipulation. And lip sync. All students will make simple hand puppet. 1 credit PSYCHOLOGY DEPARTMENT PSY 101-102-103 Christian Psychology A study of temperaments, showing how our natural tendencies affect our relationship. Students will gain understanding about themselves and others, enabling them to be wiser and more effective ministers of God’s love and grace. 3 credits HISTORY DEPARTMENT HIS 201-202-203 Church History The progress of the Church throughout history: its past; its future; and the role of our forefathers in its development. 3 credits PASTORAL DEPARTMENT PAS 301-302-303 Pastoral Theology The many facets of pasturing are covered: Preaching, counseling, administration, visiting, praying and peace making; responsibility as a community leader and family man; how to balance these many duties and responsibilities. 3 credits PAS 310-311-312 Homiletics Construction and delivery of sermons as well as platform etiquette are among the topics covered in this course. 3 credits PAS 330 Methodology Various ways of studying the Bible and interpreting passages of Scripture are taught in this course. 1 credit PAS 401-402 Pastoral Counseling Counseling and comforting those in emotional distress are part of pastoral care. This course teaches scriptural principles of dealing with death and dying, marital conflicts, and other emotional hurts. 2 credits GENERAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT GED 101-102 Public Speaking An introduction to the art of public speaking. Students will prepare and deliver speeches. 2 credits GED 110-111 Comparative Religions A study of other religions in light of what the Word of God teaches about new birth. 2 credits GED 221-222 Counseling and Communicating The importance of communicating effectively and its role in producing quality relationship, ministering and counseling. 2 credits GED 305-306-307 Names to Live By The scriptural and natural application of Bible names, showing how they reflect people’s lives and their responses to God and man. 3 credits GED 310-311 Numbers in Scriptures The significance and meanings of numbers as used in Scriptures. Numbers do not control man, but they relate to growth and development. God controls numbers, and they reveal His workings and the completion of His plans. 2 credits GED 350 Typology in Scripture A study of the types and symbols in Scripture. It includes: clouds, trees, rainbows, flowers, and others. 1 credit |
